Data residency

Draft for legal review. This page says where the Simtelligence pilot stores data. It matches the Azure layout in `docs/deploy-azure.md`. Simtelligence Technology Inc., incorporated in Alberta, hosts the pilot in Canada.

Stored in Canada Central

When the deployment region is Canada Central:

• Accounts, sessions, organizations, models, experiment rows, job rows, token hashes, contact messages, quota settings, and the audit log, in PostgreSQL Flexible Server.
• Replication results, traces, and exports, in the blob container in the same region.
• Container images, in the registry in the same region.
• Secrets, in Key Vault in the same region.
• Container logs, in the Log Analytics workspace in the same region.
• If monitoring is turned on, Application Insights is workspace-based on that same Log Analytics workspace, so the monitor data stays in Canada Central.

Nothing in the template is placed in a United States region.

What can leave Canada Central

• PostgreSQL geo-redundant backup, which is on by default. Azure writes that backup to the paired region, Canada East. Turning `geoRedundantBackup` off keeps backups in the primary region only.
• Blob geo-redundancy, only if storage redundancy is set to GRS, GZRS, or RAGRS. The default is LRS, which stays in Canada Central. The Canada Central pair is Canada East.
• Chat completions. The web app sends the conversation and tool arguments (model structure and result summaries) to the model endpoint you configure. With the optional Foundry account, that endpoint is in Canada East and the private path is in the Canada Central network. A Standard deployment processes prompts in Canada East. There is no Canada data zone. Data Zone Standard and Global Standard can process prompts outside Canada, so the template default is Standard.
• An OpenAI-compatible endpoint goes wherever its base URL points. Do not set that for a residency demonstration.
• Availability probes, if monitoring is turned on. Azure's test agents are not offered in Canada. The probe requests only the public health URL. The result is stored in Canada Central.

Contact form and email

Contact messages are stored in the Canada Central database. Email sending is off. An optional notify URL can be set later; it is empty by default, so a submission does not leave the database.
